Mariana Ferreira

 

Mariana Ferreira is a Research Associate at the NOVA Centre on Business, Human Rights and the Environment. She holds a Law Degree from NOVA School of Law and a European Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Democratization with a focus on international trade and human rights from the Global Campus of Human Rights which she finished with honors. She is currently a trainee at the Human Rights Section of the Delegation of the EU to the UN in Geneva where she follows important Business and Human Rights files such as the negotiations on the Draft Treaty on Business and Human Rights or the Draft Instrument on Regulation of PMSCOs.

Mariana has been involved with different organizations from civil society related to human rights and sustainability and performed humanitarian work in refugee camps in Greece. She also collaborated with CEDIS- Research Center on Law and Society in the organization of several academic events related to the Sustainable Development Goals, was part of a one-year research project concerning access to education by migrant and refugee children promoted by Hope For Children– CRC Policy Center (Nicosia, Cyprus) and participated in a 5 months initiative led by the Global Campus of Human Rights with the aim of investigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the right to work in Europe.
